Convert an ABN AMRO Statement PDF to Excel, CSV or MT940

ABN AMRO offers account statements as PDF going back up to 20 years, and transaction overviews in several formats going back up to 18 months. Is your period older than 18 months, or do you only have the PDF? Convert the statement here to Excel, CSV or MT940.

Download a statement in Internet Banking

1. Go to downloading account statements (via the button on ABN AMRO's page, or Zelf regelen → Overzichten en afschriften).
2. Select the account holder, the account and the type of overview.
3. Tick the statement you want.
4. Click Downloaden.
5. Save the PDF.

1. Open the ABN AMRO app.
2. Go to Profiel → Rekeningen en betalen → Afschriften en jaaroverzicht.
3. Choose the account holder, type of overview and, if needed, the account.
4. Select a period or a start and end date.
5. Tick the statement.
6. Tap Downloaden.
7. Save the PDF.

When do you need Statement Converter?

For transactions within the last 18 months, ABN AMRO can export xls or mt940 directly (Soort overzicht → Bij- en afschrijvingen). Use that if it covers your period. For older periods you only have the PDF statement, and that's where this converter helps.

Which file you get

• CSV: semicolon-separated with a comma as the decimal sign, the format Dutch Excel and most accounting software expect.
• Excel (XLSX): opens directly, no import settings needed.
• MT940 (.sta): for importing into your accounting software. Only available when the statement reconciles with its balance.

Limits and pricing

• One PDF at a time, up to 4 MB and 50 pages.
• The PDF needs selectable text, like the statement you download from your bank yourself. Scans and photos don't work yet.
• Your PDF is processed in memory and then discarded. No account needed.
