Convert a Rabobank Statement PDF to Excel, CSV or MT940

You download Rabobank statements yourself as a PDF, in Rabo Online Banking or the Rabo App. Need the amounts in a spreadsheet or your bookkeeping? Convert the PDF to Excel, CSV or MT940. You first see every transaction in an editable table, checked to the cent against the balance on the statement.

Download your statement in Rabo Online Banking

Go to Rekeningafschriften (account statements), via the "Download een rekeningafschrift" button on Rabobank's service page.
Choose your payment account, the year and the month.
Open the PDF and save it.

Alternative route: Zelf regelen → Overzichten en afschriften → Rekeningafschriften downloaden. Choose account holder, account and period, tick the statements and click Downloaden. One statement comes as a PDF; several at once come as a zip file. Unzip it first and upload one PDF at a time.

Download your statement in the Rabo App

Log in to the Rabo App.
Tap Instellingen (Settings) and choose Documenten (Documents).
Tap Rekeningafschriften (account statements).
Choose the account and year, then tap the month you need. It opens as a PDF.
Save the PDF or email it to yourself.

Tip: you can switch statements to English (EN button online; in the app via Settings > Payment accounts > Download transactions > Switch to English). Earlier statements aren't available in English.

Which file you get

CSV: semicolon-separated with a comma as the decimal sign, the format Dutch Excel and most accounting software expect.
Excel (XLSX): opens directly, no import settings needed.
MT940 (.sta): for importing into your accounting software. Only available when the statement reconciles with its balance.

Limits and pricing

One PDF at a time, up to 4 MB and 50 pages.
The PDF needs selectable text, like the statement you download from your bank yourself. Scans and photos don't work yet.
Your PDF is processed in memory and then discarded. No account needed.
Your first conversion is free. After that, a 10-pack costs €9.

How far back can I download Rabobank statements?

Transactions up to 8 years back. Statements 9 years and older can't be downloaded or requested.

Does a Rabobank business statement work?

Yes, as long as it's a PDF with selectable text that you downloaded yourself.

Rabobank offers CSV and MT940 itself. Why convert?

If you have access and your period is within what Rabobank offers, that export is fine. This is for when you only have the PDF.

Does a scanned statement work?

Not yet. The PDF needs selectable text.
